The Joint Commission introduced office-based surgery standards in 2001 to provide oversight for small practices performing invasive procedures.
The Skin Cancer Center has been accredited by the Joint Commission since 2004. The office was the second in the nation to be accredited by the Joint commission for MOHS surgery and dermatological surgery, where only the highest standards for patient care and safety are practiced.
